Summary

Five-a-side football, also known as Futsal, is a fast-paced variant of the sport played with two teams of five players each on a smaller pitch. It emphasizes skill, quick thinking, and close teamwork. Players showcase their abilities in a condensed format, making for an exhilarating and high-energy game.

Rules & Regulations

 *All the matches will be played on a League cum Knock out basis. Total no. of players in one team will be 5+2 = 7 only

 

Rules:

1. The Field

a.  Match will be held on a natural grass field.

b.  Field dimension 40 X 20 Mtr (Small ground 5-A side).

c.  Penalty area will be marked.

d.  Half line will be there.

 

2. Player

Team of 05 players with goalkeeper + 02 substitutes = 07 Players must register. 
An under-age group player can play in the upper age category, provided he/she already has not played in the upper age category. 
Rolling of substitution is permissible multiple time form from the list of 07 registered players. 
No team will be allowed with fewer than 04 players in case it does happen the game will be awarded to the opponent. 
 

3. Player Equipment 
Players must be dressed in proper football attire i.e. Jersey and shorts. 
Shin guard for players’ safety and stocking is compulsory. 
Proper sports shoes and studs are allowed. Students who have bare feet will not be allowed to play.  
Jersey colour should be distinguishable from the opponent and the goalkeeper. 
Referees have the right to ask the players to leave the ground at any time during the match in case of no proper kit.

 

4. The ball

The size of the official ball is No. 04 for Under 14 
The size of the official ball is No. 03 for Under 12 & 10. 
 

5. Duration of the match

Maximum duration of 20 minutes for a match, each half of 10 minutes for changing the side, the organiser has the right to reverse it. 
The team must report 30 minutes before the scheduled time to mark their attendance and briefing.

 

6. Goalkeeper

A goalkeeper is a must for every team (with a distinguishable colour jersey).} 
 

7. Scoring

a.  A goal can be scored from any area of the field of the playground. 
b.  No offside is applicable in this tournament. 
c.  No scoring zone or half or D will be there for scoring restriction. 
d.  Header is allowed, so no-rising limitation in this tournament.

 

8. Points tabulation and walkover 
a​ ​.  Winner 3 points: Draw 1 point: Loss - 0 point 
b.  Walk over for the league – 3 points and consider the average goal of leaving the team. 
c.  If the team does not report 5 minutes after the scheduled start time, a goal per 5 minutes will be awarded against the defaulting team. A walkover will be awarded to the opponent in case of a delay beyond ​ ​XX minutes

 

9. Grouping and Qualification 
Each group will consist of more than 2 teams. 
Teams qualifying for the elimination round will be informed through fixtures on playing patterns for Quarter Final & Semi Final rounds. 

In case of a points tie between teams, the goal average for and against would be taken. 
 

10. Tie Breaker: for knock-out stage round 
a.  Each side will be allowed 3 penalty kicks from the penalty mark. That is sudden death rule will be applied till the referees' decisions. 
b.  For Semi-final and Final games, a tie after normal playtime an extra time play of 5 minutes may be played. In case of a draw again, a tiebreaker will apply followed by sudden death if required as applicable 
c.  Penalty or tiebreaker kick will be taken from the penalty spot.

 

11. Infringement 
In the case of repeated yellow card offences by the same player:

The first yellow card will serve as a warning.

Upon receiving a second yellow card, the player will be suspended for 2 minutes.

If a player accumulates 3 yellow cards, it will be considered a red card offence. The player will be disqualified from participating for the remainder of the match, and no substitution will be permitted.

A red card will result in the player's suspension for the remaining duration of the same match. The severity of the offence will be evaluated by the committee to determine the extent of the suspension. 
If a player is found to not be a student of a respective school, the team will be disqualified from the tournament 
The referee's decisions during the match are final. No protests will be entertained regarding factual matters concerning the referee's decisions.

If any player is identified as not a student with the respective school the team will be disqualified from the tournament. 

The decision of the referee will be final in all matters during the match. No protest will be entertained against the referee’s decision.

 

12. Start & Restart the Match 
a.  Kick-off position from center point/spot (direct kick). 

b.  Kick-in will be their instant of throwing but will be indirect (rising limit up to the knee level height) (For U-10 no rising limit).

c.  All types of free kick time opponents can stand or make a wall in a minimum of 5 yards, if failed referee may show the yellow card as per clause 11.C 

d.  Goalkeeper volley kick is not allowed for 12 Years & 14 Years.

 

13. General 
a​ ​.  Team may have to help to play 3 or more matches in a day or else the tournament will be for whole day. 

b.  Any request for the postponement or changes of match timing will not be entertained. 

c.  Players will not be allowed inside the ground wearing accessories or ornament like a ring, chain, watch, or even metal spectacles. 

d.  Jersey to be tucked in during play

e.  In case of doubt not covered in the tournament rules, the decision of the tournament committee shall be final and binding on all concerned.

 

14. Note

The Players/teams must produce Aadhar cards & School ID cards whenever demanded. Photocopies of these documents should be submitted with the complete team list to the organising committee before the first game. 

The organiser has the right to disqualify any team or participant for disciplinary reasons from the tournament. 
The organiser reserves the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason.  
 

15. Protest 
a.  Opponent coach or captain can check the opponents’ age or students’ proof before the start of the match. Once the match starts, the opponent team will only be allowed to protest after paying protest fees of Rs.1000/- 
b.  Protest can be lodged immediately after the match but before the winner's next match starts. In case of protest, the team must lodge a formal written protest signed by the team Manager / Coach / Captain with a fee of Rs.1000/- which will be forfeit if it fails. A protest form will be available with the organiser. 

General Rules: - 
It is an Interschool Football Tournament. 
Proof acceptable for age- School ID card with D.O.B, Aadhar Card, or a passport photocopy.  
League cum Knockout tournament (Teams qualifying from each pool will depend on nos. of pools) 
The matches will be played on natural grass ground, so it is advised to use proper Football Studs.  
Duration - 7 to 10 minutes each half. There will be no halftime break, only side change will be there. There is a rolling substitute facility hence no breaks are required. (​ ​the organiser has the right to reverse it with information) 
If any team leaves the venue without playing all matches, then that team/school will be blacklisted from participating in any other age categories & or future games. ​ ​Even for the other activities also. Organisers may write a report to their school for misbehaviour. 
Tournament Rules & Regulations will be available at the venue. Please go through the rules before the tournament begins.

Offside (Not Applicable) 
 

Penalty kick rules apply for any penal offence inside the penalty area. 
 

Direct and Indirect free kicks will be there as per the laws of the game or the decision of the referee. 
 

Substitute rolling allowed, if and only a player leaves the game a substitute can enter the field otherwise a yellow card (clause 11. c) will be shown to him for early entering (Indirect kick from where the player enters) 
 

If a substitute player touches the ball, when the match is going on and the ball is in play then it will be a direct kick or penalty kick against his team
