Summary
Box Cricket is a version of the game of cricket that retains many of the characteristics of the original game but is played for fun in a more controlled environment, making it more accessible to casual players.
Rules & Regulations
One team will consist of 12-15 players (only 8 players will be allowed on the ground. This number can vary as per the size of the box cricket area.)
Maximum 8 overs game will be played.
Every bowler has to bowl in the marked box without moving feet or body outside the box. If the bowler takes a step after bowling and somehow goes out of the marked box then “No Ball” with a free hit will be given.
Overarm or underarm bowling can be done according to management’s decision.
Runs will be scored ahead of the half wicket as marked by the organiser. No runs will be given behind the wicket.
In case the ball hits the upper end of the nets then only one hand catch taken by the fielder will be declared as catch OUT!
If the batsman fails to hit ahead of the marked half wicket 2 times in a row, he will be declared OUT!
A maximum of 10 balls will be given to a batsman to play. If the batsman stays NOT OUT, he can bat for 5 extra balls at the end of the batting order after everyone gets a chance to play.
The last over will be “POWERPLAY” over where runs scored will be doubled and for every wicket, there would be minus 5 runs.
3 consecutive misses without the ball hitting the bat will be considered OUT!
Guidelines
In every team there should be an equal number of women participation.
The batting team is liable to send one woman per alternate wicket fall.
Catching and fielding will be done with one hand while a woman player is batting.
It is compulsory for all women in the team to bowl one over.
It is compulsory for every batsman to retire after scoring 20 runs.
5-minute break will be given at the end of every match and every session only.
Code of Conduct
The umpire’s decision will be final.
Strict action will be taken against any player or team seen contradicting officials’ decisions or misbehaving with officials. The player will be debarred.
The teams will be allotted by the management and no changes will be made once the teams are allotted.
In case of any injury, no extra player will be allowed to add at the last minute.
In case of injury, mishap, or death, management won’t be liable or responsible to pay any expense or fees.
Management can hold participants responsible for property damage, if any.
Participants should keep all the valuable items such as phones, wallets, etc. at their own risk. Management won’t be responsible for theft, loss, or damage of any kind.
Positive sportsmanship should be displayed by all.
Show respect towards other participants, officials as well as spectators.
