Summary

3-on-3 basketball is a condensed version of the game with three players on each team. It's fast-paced, intense, and emphasizes quick decision-making and teamwork.

Rules & Regulations

3x3 Basketball Tournament Rules: 

1. The latest FIBA 3X3 basketball rules will be followed. 
2. The players and the team officials shall abide by all the rules of the tournament committee. 
3. All the participating teams must report to the venue 30 minutes before the scheduled time. 
4. The players/teams must produce Aadhar cards & School ID cards whenever demanded.
Photocopies of these documents should be submitted with the complete team list to the 
organising committee before the first game. 
5. Organizer has the right to make any changes to the dates and venue.

Court and Ball

1. The game will be played on 1 half-court with 1 hoop. 
2. The size 5 ball shall be used in all categories 

Teams

1. Maximum 4 Players in each team (3 players on the court and 1 substitute). 
2. Each team member should wear a shirt with a unique number on the front and back, that 
is visible in contrast. 
3. Teams may only use jersey numbers 0 and 00 and numbers from 1 to 99.


Uniform and Colour Clash 

1. The uniform of all team members shall consist of shirts of the same dominant colour front and back as the shorts. If shirts have sleeves, they must end above the elbow. Long-sleeved shirts are not permitted.
2. The first team named in the schedule (home team) shall wear light-coloured shirts (preferably white). The second team named in the schedule (the visiting team) shall wear Dark-coloured shirts, however, if the 2 teams agree, they may interchange the colours of the shirts.
3. In case of a colour clash, the first team named in the schedule shall wear bibs or change the Jersey

Coaching

Coaches on the playground or coaching from the side-lines are not allowed and will lead to team disqualification. 

Game Officials 
The game officials shall consist of 2 referees and 3 table officials. 

Playing Time/Winner of a Game

1. The regular playing time shall be 1 period of 10 minutes. The game clock shall be stopped during dead ball situations and free throws. 
2. The Short clock will be 12 seconds. 
3. No Break after scoring. 
4. No ‘Quarter-Time’ and Half-Time’. 
5. The first team which scores 21 points or more wins the game if it happens before the end of regular playing time. 
6. If the score is tied at the end of regular playtime, overtime shall be granted. There shall be a 1-minute break before the overtime starts. The first team to score 2 points in the overtime wins the game. 
7. Only after the game is completed will the winners be announced; if the match cannot be completed due to any issues, the teams must play the match at the same venue for the remaining time. If the venue and date are changing, the team has to play a fresh match.

Beginning of the Game

1. A coin toss shall determine which team gets the first possession. The team that wins the coin toss can either choose to benefit from the ball possession at the beginning of the game or the beginning of a potential overtime. 
2. The game will start with 3 players from each team on the court.

Scoring

Every shot inside the arc will be awarded 1 point and behind the arc will be awarded 2 points. Every successful free throw will be awarded 1 point. 

Time-outs

1. Each team is granted 1 team time-out. 
2. Any player or substitute can call the time-out in a dead-ball situation. 
3. All time-outs shall last 30 seconds.
4. A time-out cannot be granted when the ball is live.

Game lost by forfeit

1. A team shall lose the game by forfeit if at the scheduled starting time of the game the team is not present on the playing court with 3 players ready to play.
2. In case of forfeit, the game score is marked with w-0 or 0-w ("w" standing for win). For the winning team this game result shall not be considered when calculating the team's average score while for the losing team this game result shall be considered with 0 points when calculating the team's average score.
3. A team losing by a tortuous forfeit shall be disqualified from the competition.
4. If in a tournament the team forfeits for the second time or in case of no-show, the team shall be disqualified from the tournament and will be displayed as DQF.

Game lost by default

1. A team shall lose a game by default if it leaves the court before the end of the game or all the players of the team are injured and/or disqualified.
2. In case of a default, the winning team may choose to keep its score as it stands or t have the game forfeited, whilst the defaulting team's score is set to 0 in any case. In case of a default where the winning team choses to have the game forfeited, the game result shall not be considered when calculating the team's average score.
3. A team losing by default shall be disqualified from the competition.

Protest

The captain shall inform the crew chief no later than 10 minutes following the end of the game, if his/her team is protesting against the result of the game and sign the score sheet in the 'Captain's signature in case of protest' column with a formal complaint in writing with a non-refundable fee of Rs.3000/-

Qualifier detail
1. One winning team from each category (boys and girls) from 
Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru will qualify for the National level 
qualifying round.
2. One winning team from each category (boys and girls- except Mumbai, Pune & Bengaluru) will qualify for the National level qualifying round.

Two teams, each, of boys and girls will qualify from the city hosting the Final Round (Total 12 teams each).


The Epic Final: The culmination of this incredible journey where the triumphant teams from each cluster will converge for the highly anticipated grand clash. Travel(3AC/AC Bus), food and accommodation will be provided to the qualifying teams and one accompanying coach for the final round.
