FLOOR EXERCISES (Boys & Girls U/8, 10, 12):

  1. There will be 5 groups of elements. Each gymnast must perform 2 elements from each group, with a maximum of 10 elements.
  2. Rolls: Forward Roll, Backward Roll, Pencil Roll, Straddle Roll, Pike Roll, Dive Roll, Handstand Roll.
  3. Balance: T balance, Y balance, L hold, Straddle L hold, Candle Stand, Head Stand, Forearm Stand, Handstand.
  4. Flexibility: Splits, Bridge, Kneeling arch, Pancake.
  5. Acrobatics: Walkover, Cartwheel, Round-off, Head spring, Neck spring, Handspring, Flic flac.
  6. Jumps & Turns: Tuck Jump, Straddle Jump, Pike Jump, Turn Jump, Toe Turn.
  7. Each element is assigned a ‘D’ score of 1.00 points. A maximum of 10 elements can be counted, resulting in a maximum D score of 10.00 points. However, not more than 2 elements from any family group will be counted for the D score.

 

Execution errors will incur deductions as follows:

  1. Small error: 0.10 points deduction
  2. Medium error: 0.20 points deduction
  3. Large error: 0.30 points deduction
  4. Repetition of an element: 0.3 deduction each time
  5. Pauses longer than 3 seconds: 0.3 deduction each time
  6. Unnecessary or additional movements: 0.10 deduction each time
  7. Major falls will result in a penalty of 0.50 points.
  8. The ‘E’ score is determined by subtracting the execution deductions from 10.00.
  9. The final score (out of 20.00) is calculated by adding the D score and E score.

 

 

FLOOR EXERCISES (U/6 Boys & Girls):

Participants must perform any 6 elements, resulting in a final score out of 16.00.

  1. Each element Value of 1 point and for 6 elements total 6 points will be awarded.
  2. The ‘E’ score is determined by subtracting the execution deductions from 10.00.
  3. The final score (out of 16.00) is calculated by adding the D score and E score.

 

SPRINGBOARD (Boys & Girls U/8, U/10):

Participants have to perform the jumps twice:

 

U/8: Simple straight jump

 

U/10: Tuck jump

  1. Each jump has a ‘D’ score of 4.50 for each attempt. There is a 0.50 bonus for a fixed landing, resulting in a maximum D score of 10.00.
  2. The execution score for each jump is out of 5.00 points. The final score (out of 20.00) is the combined score of the two jumps.
  3. This score of 2 vaults (out of 20.0) will be considered for the All-Around and Event Championship.

 

VAULTING TABLE (Boys & Girls U/12):

  1. Height of vault: 110CM
  2. Participants must perform any 2 different vaults.

  5. Squat/Straddle/Stoop Through | 5.00
  6. Each vault has a ‘D’ score as indicated in the table. The ‘E’ score for each vault will be out of 5.00. The final score (out of 20.00) is the combined score of the two vaults.

 

 

Balancing Beam – Age Categories (U/8, U/10, U/12)

U/8 Girls:

  1. 5 compulsory elements, each worth 2.00 points, with no optional elements.
  2. Maximum ‘D’ score is 10.00 points.
  3. The sequence of the elements is optional, and the gymnast can climb onto the beam in any way.
  4. The sequence of above elements is optional. Gymnasts will mount with simple support.
  5. The ‘E’ score is determined by subtracting the execution deductions from 10.00.
  6. The final score (out of 20.00) is calculated by adding the D score and E score.

 

Compulsory Elements (U/8):

  • Walk on toes – 4 steps.
  • Simple straight jump.
  • Stand on toes – both legs – hold for 2 seconds.
  • Flat foot leg holds up (Front/side/back) – 30 to 45 degrees – hold for 2 seconds.
  • Straight jump dismount.

 

 

U/10 Girls

  1. There are 5 compulsory elements, each worth 2.00 points, with no optional elements.
  2. The maximum ‘D’ score is 10.00 points.
  3. The sequence of the elements is optional, and the gymnast will mount with simple support.
  4. The sequence of above elements is optional. Gymnasts will mount with simple support.
  5. The ‘E’ score is determined by subtracting the execution deductions from 10.00.
  6. The final score (out of 20.00) is calculated by adding the D score and E score.

 

 

 Compulsory Elements (U/10):

  • V sit – hands holding beam – hold for 2 seconds.
  • Deep walk – 4 steps.
  • Simple straight jump.
  • Leg holds up (Front/side/back) – on toe – 30 to 45 degrees – hold for 2 seconds.
  • Tuck jump dismount.

 

U/12 Girls:

  1. There are 5 compulsory elements, each worth 2.00 point, with no optional elements.
  2. The maximum ‘D’ score is 10.00 points.
  3. The sequence of the elements is optional.
  4. The sequence of above elements is optional. Gymnasts will mount with simple support.
  5. No coaching from the sidelines is allowed during the competition. Coaches are not permitted to stand near FX or VT. For U/8 girls, the coach can stand near the beam but cannot assist.
    • Merit certificates will be awarded to the top six competitors from each event for MAG and WAG.
  1. Medals will be awarded to the top three competitors from each event for MAG and WAG.
  2. The ‘E’ score is determined by subtracting the execution deductions from 10.00.
  3. The final score (out of 20.00) is calculated by adding the D score and E score.

 

Compulsory Elements (U/12):

  • Split sitting forward or side – hold for 2 seconds.
  • Consecutive 2 straight jumps.
  • 180 Degree turn on toe, of one leg (free leg forward).
  • Front scale hold for 2 seconds.
  • Any dismount can be performed.

General Rules

  1. The organizing committee reserves the right to modify or revise the rules. 
  2. The game rules will be implemented as adopted by the Association. 
  3. The Referee’s decision shall be final and binding on both teams’ players and officials. 
  4. The organizers hold no responsibility for any injuries, fractures, damage, or accidents during the competition. 
  5. All players/participants and team officials must adhere to the rules set by the organizing committee. 
  6. Each school is permitted to send only one team for team games and a maximum of 5 participants for individual games. Only a single team can represent the school in each age group category. 
  7. Participants/teams must report to the competition venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled event time. 
  8. The organizers are not liable for any loss of personal belongings. 
  9. Any weapons, sharp objects, or objectionable items will be confiscated immediately. 
  10. Unruly behavior, violence, offensive language, smoking on the premises, and possession or use of abusive substances like alcohol will result in the immediate disqualification of the entire school contingent to which the offending students belong.
  11. The overall winners and runners-up will be announced on the final day of Viva on 17th December 2023 in Mumbai. 
  12. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. 
  13. Once a protest is decided by the Executive Committee, it will be considered final and binding, and no further disputes will be entertained. 
  14. Forms will only be accepted with the entry fees, which are non-refundable.
  15. On-the-spot entries will not be accepted. 
  16. Separate entry forms must be filled in for boys and girls. 
  17. Please fill out separate forms based on the number of entries. 
  18. The entry form must be properly filled in, stamped, and signed by the principal, and submitted along with the entry fee at the fee counter between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. 
  19. Protest Procedure: Any protest must be lodged within half an hour of the match’s conclusion through the accredited Sports in charge/Coach of the team, along with a protest fee of Rs. 3000/-. The protest must be submitted to the organizing secretary. 
  20. The referee’s decision is final and binding on both teams’ players and officials. 
  21. Players/teams must present Aadhar cards and School ID cards upon request, and photocopies of the same must be submitted along with the complete team list to the organizing committee before the first game. 
  22. Any team found with an overage player, or any document manipulation will be disqualified without prior notice. 
  23. The team might be required to participate in 2 or more matches in a single day. 
  24. Requests for rescheduling or altering match timings will not be considered.
  25. Players are prohibited from wearing any form of jewelry, including rings, chains, watches, or metal spectacles, while on the field. 
  26. It is mandatory to tuck in the jersey during gameplay. 

 

 

VIVA PREMIER COMPETITIONS 

  1. We are excited to announce the upcoming Viva Basketball Inter-School Competitions for under 14 boys and girls. These highly anticipated events will take place at the zonal level, intra-city level, and culminate in the prestigious Viva national-level tournaments in December. 
  2. The highly anticipated premier competitions, namely “Swing & Swirl,” featuring exceptional solo and group performances, will be continued in all its grandeur. The mesmerizing showcases of talent in “Voice of Viva” and “Viva NOVA” for both boys and girls will also be organized with the same fervor and excitement as always.
