Rules & Regulations
- The Field
- Match will be held on an artificial or natural grass field.
- Field dimension: 40 × 20 meters (small ground, 5‑a‑side).
- Penalty area will be marked.
- Half-line will be present.
- Player
- Team of 5 players + goalkeeper + 3 substitutes = 8 players must register.
- An under‑age player may play in an upper age category if they haven’t already played there.
- Rolling substitutions are permissible multiple times from the list of 8 registered players.
- No team with fewer than 4 players; if so, the game is awarded to the opponent.
- Player Equipment
- Players must wear proper football attire: jersey and shorts.
- Shin guards and stockings are compulsory.
- Proper sports shoes/studs required; bare feet not allowed.
- Jersey colours must be distinguishable from opponents and goalkeeper.
- Referees may remove players without proper kit from the field.
- The Ball
- Size 4 for U‑8 to U‑10 years.
- Size 5 for U‑12 to U‑14 years.
- Duration of the Match
- Total maximum duration: 20 minutes (two 10‑minute halves); organiser may reverse these.
- Teams must report 30 minutes before scheduled time for attendance and briefing.
- Goalkeeper
- Every team must include a goalkeeper wearing a distinguishable jersey.
- Scoring
- Goals can be scored from any area of the field.
- No offside rule applies.
- No restricted scoring zones.
- Headers are allowed.
- Points Tabulation & Walkover
- Win = 3 points, Draw = 1, Loss = 0.
- Walkover in league = 3 points; average goal difference recorded.
- If a team is late by 5 minutes, one goal per 5 minutes is awarded against them; beyond 10 minutes, walkover is awarded.
- Grouping & Qualification
- Each group will have at least 3 teams.
- Teams progressing to knockouts (Quarter/Semi Finals) will be notified via fixtures.
- Ties in points resolved by goal average (for/against).
- Tie Breaker (Knock‑out Stage)
- Each side takes 3 penalty kicks; sudden death applies if tied.
- Semi‑Final/Final: extra time of 5 minutes may be played before penalties.
- Penalty kicks from the penalty spot.
- Infringement
- Repeated yellow cards:
- 1st yellow = warning.
- 2nd yellow = 2‑minute suspension.
- 3rd yellow = red card; player sent off with no substitution.
- Red card = dismissed for remainder of match; further suspension decided by committee.
- Non‑student player found = team disqualified.
- Referee’s decisions are final; no protests on facts.
- If any player not a student of the school, team disqualified.
- Referee’s decisions are final; no protest allowed.
- Repeated yellow cards:
- Start & Restart the Match
- Kick‑off from center spot (direct kick).
- Kick‑in is indirect throw-in (up to knee height); no height limit for 10-year category.
- Free kicks: opponents must stay 5 yards away or risk a yellow card.
- Goalkeeper volley kicks not allowed for U‑10, U‑12, and U‑14.
- General
- Teams may play 3+ matches in a day.
- No requests for postponement/time changes will be accepted.
- No accessories (ring, chain, watch, metal spectacles) allowed.
- Jersey must be tucked in during play.
- Committee decision final in dubious cases.
- Note
- Teams must produce Aadhar and School ID; photocopies submitted before first game.
- Organiser may disqualify participants for disciplinary reasons.
- Organiser may reject entries without assigning reasons.
- Protest
- Opponent coach/captain may check age/student proof before the match; after start, protest needs ₹2000 fee.
- Protest lodged before winner’s next match, in writing by Manager/Coach/Captain, with ₹2500 fee (non-refundable). Form available with organiser.
- General Rules
- Interschool football tournament.
- Acceptable age proof: School ID with DOB, Aadhar, or passport photocopy.
- League + Knockout format (depends on pools).
- Matches on natural grass; proper football studs advised.
- Duration: 7–10 minutes per half, no halftime—only side change. Rolling substitutes allowed. Organiser may reverse this.
- If a team leaves before playing all matches, it will be blacklisted and reported for misbehavior.

- Goal kick is direct.
- Corner kick is direct.
- Goalkeeper kick or throw-in is direct.
- Throw-in or kick-in is indirect.
- Offside does not apply.
- Penalty kick applies for infractions in the penalty area.
- Direct and indirect free kicks per game laws/referee decision.
- Rolling substitutes allowed only when a player leaves; early entry earns a yellow card and an indirect kick.
- If a substitute touches ball while match in play, a direct or penalty kick is awarded to the opposition.
